IUCMA was established to improve decentralized decision making with the stakeholders and thereby improve water resource management at local level. The purpose of the CMA is to ensure that the nation’s water resources are protected, used, developed, conserved, managed and controlled. The IUCMA has inherited several functions as defined in section 80 of the National Water Act (NWA) since its establishment.
