The Center for American Progress is dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action. The Development team works to ensure that American Progress has the financial resources to meet its mission. More than 33,000 Americans die each year as a result of firearm injuries, and American Progress advocates for common-sense gun violence prevention policies to reduce the number of deaths and nonfatal firearm injuries that are a result of weak firearm regulations and laws. ThinkProgress is one of the web’s top progressive news sites, presenting both original and research-oriented pieces in step with the news cycle. Interns work with an editor to craft and hone pitches, in addition to doing extensive research, writing, fact-checking, monitoring daily news, and completing other tasks as assigned. Are you a budding filmmaker with a passion for social justice and progressive issues? American Progress is looking for an intern to join the Video team to expand the organization’s visual media offerings. The CAP Action War Room team works on both rapid-response and long-term research and communications projects. American Progress has dozens of Macs and hundreds of PCs, as well as its share of gremlins, so the Technical Support team can give you hands-on experience using professional-grade tools and techniques to fix the problems that arise while running a think tank that employs more than 200 people. American Progress supports dozens of websites and blogs; you can help add features, launch new projects, and get involved in creating online campaigns. Eligibility: All high school, undergraduate, master's level, Ph.D., and J.D. People are also eligible if they are a veteran or a recent college graduate within six months of graduation. All summer interns work full time and a minimum of 8 weeks, although 10 weeks is preferred. International students must be able to provide documentation that shows they are allowed to work in the United States.
