Either a manually operated or automated system, UFMC can meet your water purification needs. The filtration system is innovative in that it provides a cost effective, fast build-out and modular scalability for water purification. Whether it be for potable water purification, waste water recycling or cooling tower sidestream filtration, UFMC can meet a number of filtration needs. A suitably sized and equipped kit assembly plant that will meet quality and volume requirements is pre manufactured. Plants are commisioned and safe drinking water is supplied fast and cost effectively. There are a number of applications for the Upflow Floating Media Clarification (UFMC) System. The UFMC System can clarify most surface water for potable water use. The UFMC System has been successfully used to increase the output capacity of existing filtration plants where, for example, a conventional plant has reached its limit and additional capacity is needed in a short period of time. The UFMC System can be moved around on a trailer and run off a generator to produce clarified water for post disaster applications. In addition to the ability to scale, various filter sizes are available to meet your capacity requirements. UFMC decreases your operational costs through automation of the flush cycle, reduction of labor such as day-to-day supervision, and limited to no system maintenance. In addition, with the UFMC system, you can change the configuration of units to meet your dynamic water filtration requirements. Having multiple units allows for maintenance or flushing to be carried out without interruption of clean water supply. Furthermore, if additional capacity is required, supplementary units can be added in a matter of weeks. The UFMC System is typically between 1% and 2% and can quickly flush the filtration media through its short, effective flush cycle. Flush cycles can occur many times a day, allowing for far less media per volume of water, and in contrast to conventional sand filtration systems, a much shorter cleaning cycle. The media used in UFMC is inert, which allows for the flush cycle to be repeated for years without the need for media replacement. Should the media need to be replaced, it can be recycled. This simplified way of clarifying water allows for easy and cost effective maintenance.
